
Hundreds of Women Enthusiastically Attend Free Seminar and Breast Cancer Screening at Rusun Rorotan

Jakarta, August 27, 2025 – Commemorating a decade of the establishment of DD Rorotan Clinic, initiated by PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa, the highlight of the anniversary celebration culminated in a health activity focused on early breast cancer detection. The event, held at the Rorotan Rusunawa (low-cost apartment) in North Jakarta, was attended by hundreds of enthusiastic women.
Previously, a series of activities has been conducted comprising of a health seminar, a simulation of the Breast Self-Examination (SADARI), as well as a Clinical Breast Examination (SADANIS). Participants also received free hemoglobin (HB) test, mammograms, general medical check-ups, and free health consultations with a medical personnel. Three similar events were previously held from June to July 2025.
Assistant Deputy for Gender Mainstreaming in the Economic, Infrastructure, and Regional Development and Regional Government Region I of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) of the Republic of Indonesia, Eni Widiyanti explained in her speech, "We welcome the collaboration between PTTEP and Dompet Dhuafa in presenting this program. Collaboration like this shows that it is not only the government's task, but also a shared task. Moreover, this program is in line with the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDGs) goal, namely a Healthy and Prosperous Life and the fifth SGD goal, namely Gender Equality. We are committed to continuing to support, encourage cross-sector synergy to improve the quality of life of Indonesian Women."
Dr. Yadi, Sp.PD, as the keynote speaker, added that early detection is the most effective step in reducing breast cancer mortality. "Regular check-ups are very important so that any abnormalities can be detected early, thus increasing the chances of recovery," he explained.
In addition to free seminar and breast cancer screening, MSMEs owned by women were also provided with free booths to promote and sell their products. This support not only raises health awareness but also provides economic empowerment opportunities for women in the surrounding area.
The anniversary's highlight was also attended by several prominent figures and officials including representatives of the Mayor of North Jakarta, Head of the Rorotan Community Health Center, Dr. Hj. Siti Maemunah, Cilincing Police, representatives of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI), Dr. Yeni Purnamasari from Dompet Dhuafa, and Eny Widiyanti from the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, as well as General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia, Grinchai Hattagam.
This anniversary is not only a celebration of Rorotan Clinic’s commitment in providing free health service for a decade now, but also a moment to share and provide real benefits to the community. Through this program, we want to raise women's awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection to prevent delays in treatment," said Grinchai Hattagam, General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia.
Through this activity, PTTEP Indonesia together with Dompet Dhuafa, hopes that more people especially women will be motivated to maintain their health through early detection, thereby achieving a better quality of life.
