28 Jun 2025

North Jakarta, 28 June 2025 — In an effort to increase awareness and vigilance of breast cancer, PTTEP Indonesia collaborates with Dompet Dhuafa to organize educational activities and free early breast cancer screening. This event was held in the 2nd Floor Hall of the DD Rorotan Clinic, North Jakarta, targeting women of productive age and the general public in the surrounding area.

This series of activities is a continuation of the collaborative health program which started on 11 June 2025, as part of the long-term commitment of PTTEP Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa in fighting for women's health rights.

Breast cancer is still a scourge for Indonesian women. Based on Globocan 2022 data, more than 66,000 new cases are recorded every year, making it the cancer with the highest number of cases and the third highest cause of cancer deaths in Indonesia. Unfortunately, the majority of new cases are discovered at an advanced stage due to low public awareness of the importance of early detection.

"Early detection is the main key. If breast cancer is detected early, the cure rate can reach more than 90%," said dr. Maulina Indah, Sp.B, Subsp. Onk (K), one of the speakers for this activity.

This activity presents a series of agendas which include: Seminars and counseling about breast cancer, Seminars and counseling about breast cancer, SADARI check simulation (Self Breast Check), clinical breast check (SADANIS), hemoglobin check (HB), and free consultations with specialist doctors, midwives and other medical personnel.
Dian (24) was one of the participants who said, "Early detection event for breast cancer are very useful for women because the breast is an important part of the body for us, it is better to prevent than to cure. Nowadays there are many types of diseases that arise and the causes are not only from ourselves but also from outside. Thank you to PTTEP and Dompet Dhuafa because this event helps us as women be more educated and in the future we can prevent this disease."
This event is open to the public and focuses on women aged 20–60 years, including health cadres, students and housewives. Apart from providing education, this activity is also hoped to be the first step for participants who have never been screened or who experience early symptoms to immediately seek further medical consultation.

Through synergy between the business world and social institutions, PTTEP Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa hope that this activity will not only provide direct benefits in the form of health services, but also inspire more parties to be active in efforts to prevent and early detect cancer.

PTTEP Indonesia is an oil and gas company originating from Thailand.
