
Thai Embassy with PTTEP Indonesia Inaugurate Cultural Facilities at Curug Dago, Bandung

Bandung, 23 July 2025 – The Royal Thai Embassy in Indonesia together with PTTEP Indonesia officially inaugurated the renovated walking trail and Thai Pavilion in the Curug Dago area, Bandung, West Java. This beautiful site, which has been supported by PTTEP since its first construction 20 years ago, holds cultural and historical significance for Indonesia and Thailand, as it symbolizes the long-standing friendship and deep-rooted ties between the two countries.
This inauguration is a manifestation of PTTEP Indonesia and the Thai Government's concern for preserving cultural heritage, as well as increasing the comfort of local and foreign tourists visiting Curug Dago
Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia said, “It is also in this spirit that the Royal Thai Embassy worked in partnership with PTTEP Indonesia and the West Java Province Forestry Service to renovate the stairway, the Pavilions and the areas surrounding Curug Dago to improve the walkway so that the Indonesian public could safely hike down to visit the two inscribed stones of the Thai Kings and the waterfall.”
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, Herman Suryatman, Regional Secretary of West Java Province, Mohammad Farhan, mayor of Bandung City, and Grinchai Hattagam, General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia.
Herman Suryatman said, "Thank you to PTTEP Indonesia and the Thai Embassy for successfully renovating the facilities at Curug Dago Bandung, which is a symbol of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand."
Facilities inaugurated include a renovated Thai Pavilion, safe footpath access to the waterfall, environmentally friendly public areas. All of these facilities were designed with the principles of sustainability and accessibility in mind, to create a more inclusive tourism experience.
The Mayor of Bandung also said, "Thank you to PTTEP Indonesia and the Thai Embassy for contributing to the construction of facilities at Curug Dago."
Meanwhile, Grinchai Hattagam, General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia, emphasized: "Our contribution is a concrete form of PTTEP Indonesia's commitment to preserving culture and the environment. We believe cross-border cooperation like this is very important to support sustainable tourism while strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand."
This facility, which has been completely renovated, is now open to the public and is expected to become part of a more comfortable, safe and meaningful tourist experience at Curug Dago.
