PTTEP Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa Strengthen Stunting Prevention Efforts Through Nutrition Education and Family Activities

29 Jul 2026

Jakarta, 22 July 2026 – To commemorate the 11th anniversary of Gerai Sehat Rorotan (GSR), PTTEP Indonesia in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa held an event themed "A Great Generation Without Stunting, Yes We Can" at the Rorotan Flats (Rusun Rorotan), North Jakarta, on Wednesday (22 July). This activity is part of PTTEP Indonesia's commitment to supporting stunting prevention efforts and improving maternal and child health.

The event was attended by Dr. Ir. Sugeng Santoso, M.T., Expert Staff for Maritime Economics of the Coordinating Ministry for Food; dr. Arif Wahyudy, M.K.M., Acting Head of the North Jakarta City Health Sub-Department; Surhayanti, Head of the North Jakarta City Public Housing and Settlement Area Sub-Department; Grinchai Hattagam, General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia; Melliana Eka, S.Tr.Gz., Nutritionist; as well as pregnant women, mothers with toddlers, Posyandu cadres, PAUD/TK children, and residents of the Rorotan Flats.

The Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs welcomed this initiative as a form of cross-sector collaboration to support the national food security program and accelerate stunting prevention. Dr. Ir. Sugeng Santoso, M.T., Expert Staff for Maritime Economics at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs, stated that the synergy between the government, PTTEP Indonesia, Dompet Dhuafa, and various partners is expected to make Rorotan a model for program development that can be replicated in other regions.

"Going forward, collaborative approaches like this will continue to be strengthened in various regions to support the achievement of the Food Security Index target of 82.33 by 2029. By strengthening local food, increasing food affordability, and utilizing safe and nutritious food, it is hoped that community food security will be strengthened while supporting the birth of a healthy and stunting-free generation," explained Sugeng Santoso.

Through this activity, PTTEP Indonesia encourages the public to understand that stunting prevention begins during pregnancy through balanced nutrition. The educational session, led by a nutritionist, discussed the importance of nutrition for pregnant women and children as a foundation for optimal growth and development. It also provided a platform for sharing experiences in implementing nutritious eating patterns within the family.

In addition to educational sessions, the event also featured a nutritious cooking competition aimed at inspiring mothers to serve healthy, appealing meals to their children. Preschool and kindergarten children also participated in a coloring competition to foster creativity and introduce the importance of nutrition for early growth and development.

Nurul Hidayah (36), a resident of the Rorotan Flats, said she benefited greatly from the activity. "I've gained a better understanding of stunting and learned how to create healthy meals that children enjoy. I hope I can apply the knowledge I've gained at home so my children receive balanced nutrition. Thank you to PTTEP Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa. I hope activities like this can continue often," she said.

As part of its promotional and preventive efforts, Gerai Sehat Rorotan continues to provide prenatal checkups, child growth and development monitoring, nutrition education, and maternal and child health services. During this program, pregnant women also receive glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid (GCU) health checks.

Grinchai Hattagam, General Manager of PTTEP Indonesia, stated that stunting prevention requires collaboration from all stakeholders and must begin during pregnancy.

"PTTEP Indonesia believes that the best investment for the future begins with providing good nutrition from early life. Through this activity, we hope parents will gain knowledge and inspiration to implement nutritious eating patterns at home to support optimal child growth and development. Together with Dompet Dhuafa and our partners, we will continue to present programs that provide real benefits to public health," said Grinchai.

Through this collaboration, PTTEP Indonesia hopes to continue supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, while strengthening stunting prevention efforts through education, health services, and community empowerment to create a healthier, smarter, and more qualified generation of Indonesians.

As an oil and gas exploration and production company from Thailand, PTTEP Indonesia consistently carries out various social responsibility programs in the fields of health, education, environment, and community empowerment as part of its commitment to creating sustainable benefits for the communities in its operational areas.
